Following the great game of strategy wargame European Escalation was unveiled at the 2012 gamescom and we are the first information about this title. AirLand Battle, is the worthy heir of his predecessor and the developers have tried to refine the concept and improve a whole lot of things. But is that it will be enough to make a difference?


We are in the Cold War, between 1975 and 1985. The troops of NATO and Warsaw Pact face. But in AirLand Battle, war is nothing "cool" as real clashes took place between the two blocs. And this is the Old Continent that is the theater of most battles in southern Europe to Scandinavia, a wide variety of landscapes provide the framework for this virtual war. Landscapes that are more hilly than before: there are indeed more relief because the new version of 3D engine IRISZOOM Engine is now able to replicate it so much easier hills and mountains. And not bother to have a PC to run this war very nice title: it works very well in setting the "average" on notebooks with Intel integrated chipset HD 4000!



The 750 types of units (350 in the previous section) also received a makeover thanks to the use of new textures. We can control both dismounted troops, vehicles and air units even 150 (the bomber to fighter aircraft through electronic warfare). It was necessary to represent it faithfully represented 12 countries (8 in the previous album). And Wargame: AirLand Battle goes very far at this level since each nation has its peculiarities: the Russians for example have access to extremely powerful heavy tank which is not the case in some other countries that rely on other forces. Each characteristic of the units is also faithfully transcribed, the missile range, the density of the shield which may be different for a tank from the front to the rear. A good player will know his army so well. The level of detail and data taken into account by the game to make it as realistic as possible is simply amazing!


The gameplay is serving a solo promises to be daunting and a major multiplayer! For the solo, you get access to two campaigns: one where you control the NATO and the other in which you lead the Soviet troops. These two campaigns are dynamic, that is to say that the missions are not predetermined but depends on your strategic decisions and your effectiveness on the battlefield. Enormous potential for playability is therefore expected that all the campaigns are playable in cooperation or competitive! And when we know that it takes about 30 hours to finish a campaign, you immediately imagine life itself gigantic! The multiplayer hardcore is not left since they are huge battles on maps 10 and 10 which are against the program. No, you're not dreaming! A delivery system parts on the net is also integrated so that other players can admire your strategies. And there is not one that clicks as fast as its units that will win because we are dealing with a real dimension to both macro-strategic and tactical: you must make the right decisions both to properly place your army on the field but also to properly manage and finely each of your groups of units. A task made easier by the zoom level that allows the 3D engine: an overview of how Google Earth to map the observation of a small infantry unit.

Keeping the base that made the success of Wargame: European Escalation, AirLand Battle corrects some of its shortcomings (relief stronger, more interesting solo ...), but also brings more realism and more content: more units, more countries ... In short, developers have wanted to please the fans of the first hour and fans of strategy games sharp, which can safely be tempted by this production ultra sound.
