After the excellent role playing and Divine Divinity Divinity 2, Larian Studio offers us a third adventure that is far from being a sequel. Already, because his story is set before the events narrated in his predecessors and also because the overall gameplay was revised: shifting from real-time battles in a turn-based close to a Fallout 1. Revised details of this game that shakes up the fans of the series.
We are several hundred years before Divine Divinity. The orcs are marching troops and bases on Rivellon. In addition to their huge number, they have at their disposal powerful magic. Fortunately, you are there, yes you, or rather two of you because they are two heroes that you will control throughout the adventure (either solo or in co-operation): a warrior who has been convicted and released a young mysterious woman freshly back to life. It will be up to you to find what lies behind the orc invasion. To do so, you can of course and throughout your epic powers and acquire the skills of your choice. Indeed, there are no classes in Divinity Original Sin: it will be up to you to fully customize your hero (or two your hero if you play one), choose your weapon and your orientation: a little magic? An archer? A jack of all trades?
And going to have to choose an effective orientation for the fighting tactics are the least. No question of running into the pile. Already, though the adventure itself is in real time, to the battles, it is the turn-in Fallout is being proposed here (based on action points). Then, because the combos possible between your skills are many. An example: let's say you invoke an elemental ice to help you in combat. Your sidekick then pulls an explosive fireball at your enemies and touch your elemental: it will fall apart with the result of producing a frozen puddle at his feet. If your friend puts a fireball in the area where the ice will turn into water. Then just cast a spell of lightning to electrify the puddle and all the monsters that were there. Warning of course not to get caught in your own game and do not you find yourself in the area!
The combos between your spells are so many, but the interaction does not stop there because the developers have pushed up the vice allowing the player to touch, move and provide destroy the vast majority of doodads! Your character has nothing to create a puddle on the floor, but you'd like to throw out your power to electrify a large area? Okay! Drill the cask of wine for a pool. Your warrior hand-to-body would like to increase the damage he does with his sword? Pick a poisonous mushroom and coat with your weapon. Poisonous effect guaranteed! In short, we must remember to use the environment around you and take advantage if you want to move forward. Caution still what you do because if you start to bite into the coffers of a house without the owner's permission, it could be that it is slightly annoyed by your attitude. Be smarter than that and remember that you have two characters: why not send one of them talk to him while the other sneaks quietly to watch what is interesting in home?
As usual with the Divinity games, quests are no exception and we are promised that the choices the player makes during his adventure will affect the result. Impossible to verify on a 30 minute demo. A reputation system is also part with non-player characters who react against you based on the behavior of each of your two characters vis-à-vis them. Because yes, each of your two characters (and more so if you play two together) can talk to NPCs and take a different attitude. This short overview of Divinity Original Sin would not be complete without mentioning the presence of an adventure editor that allows you if you have some time to create yourself your own set of A to Z: sets, quests, dialogues, placement of enemies ... Almost everything is possible and it is hoped that a large community will seize this tool and will offer all players good extra big adventures. However, just with the game from the developers of Larian, there are already plenty to do. And besides, given their previous productions and what we saw this new app, you can already trust them with the quality of this RPG.
Divinity Original Sin is a role playing game which will not appeal to nag and those who enjoy dynamic combat and speeds past. It is intended rather to patients, those who like the first Fallout, Baldur's Gate and the other Arcanum. In short, the game tactics and deep. And if you do not know the titles of legend, so we invite you to discover or to your interest in this Divinity which will certainly be a good opportunity and less daunting for eyes accustomed to modern graphics.
