It has been three and a half years that a certain Marvel Heroes is being developed by Gazillion Entertainment, a time required to design a "Superhero MMO" that will stand up to other kinds of productions that have already arisen. While its creators are starting to see the end of the tunnel, gamescom allowed them to show us what they in store for us.
For Marvel Heroes, it's not as buzzwords. It is true that the project could have been content to rely on the headliners in the team, as David Brevik (lead designer of the first two Diablo) or the writer Brian Michael Bendis (the comic book fans Marvel probably know). But for drilling today, we need concepts, Marvel Heroes and hope to win against competition. First, it appears strongly the idea of having been designed from the basis of the project as a game free-to-play MMO where many comics sauce are first passed through the subscription box before arrive at this economic system. Of course, micro-transactions will be part of the experience and we do not yet know what form they take or their impact on the gameplay, although we are promised it will be quite possible to play optimally without spending a penny.
