For users having issues with the Hi-Rez Authentication and Update service failing to start or attach.
To add a little behind the scenes with this issue it's Microsoft's .NET framework that is often to blame for this error. Something is in the .NET framework that doesn't agree with our service and I've been trying for a while to understand what is happening and to come up with some workarounds.
First, Don't Panic
Seriously, run the installer as an admin.
Second, Go to start -> Run -> type 'Services.msc' and hit enter.
This will show a list of your system's services. Scroll down to 'Hi-Rez Studios Authenticate and Update Service'. Right click that and select Restart if it's running, or If it's stopped, select Start. Also make sure that it's startup type is "automatic". I understand that this may have already, been tried, but for a minority of users experiencing this issue this is the only fix required.
